It has been a busy week for MICROMINE’s Pitram team at the AusIMM Underground Operators Conference on the Gold Coast. This year we were pleased to have been able to attend the 40th anniversary of the event.
Overall delegate numbers were up 35% on 2014’s event, with a record 792 delegates attending from across the globe. The program included a series of keynote presentations and workshops from underground mining experts, industry influencers and product vendors. The event provides an opportunity for industry representatives to network in a relaxed environment, share what they’ve learned and get an update on the latest industry trends and innovations.
MICROMINE attended the event as an exhibitor and showcased Pitram, our market leading fleet management and mine control solution. Pitram records, manages and processes mine site data in real time allowing the mine to make informed decisions throughout the mining cycle.
The industry has seen some tough times since the last conference in 2014 but there were definite signs of improvement evident at the conference with underground mining companies looking at innovative ways to capitalise on opportunities in the market.
Technical Pre-Sales Specialist, Christopher Hunt said it was a busy few days at the conference, “It was great to be a part of this 40th anniversary event at the Gold Coast. Overall I saw a lot of positivity and enthusiasm from attendees at the conference, it looks like this could be a big year for the technology market. Innovation through the application of technology was a key theme over the three days and visitors to the MICROMINE booth were keen to discuss how Pitram can help them increase production and safety on their site”.
The event included a number of networking events including the AusIMM Underground Operators Conference Gala Dinner. “It was great to meet some of our clients face to face as well as being a part of understanding of some the challenges they are facing in the current market” Hunt added.
Thanks to everyone that visited the MICROMINE booth over the 3 days and we look forward to seeing you at the next AusIMM event.
